What’s in store for my child?

The Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church ranges in age from 2 years old to 6th Grade. Our desire is to teach our children basic Biblical foundations through age-appropriate curriculum, as well as show them the love of Jesus Christ through our teachers and staff. We believe that all students, no matter what age, are important and a vital part of worship within our church family.

There are many great things your child can be a part of at First Baptist Church. From participating in Sunday School, Junior Church, AWANA Clubs, going to Vacation Bible School and Junior Camp in the summer – the opportunities for your child to learn and have fun are limitless.

15 playroomNursery – We provide warm, nurturing, safe and well-supervised childcare for children (birth to 3 years old) during all of our regularly scheduled services. The foundation we seek to lay during your child’s early years is built on Christ and involves lots of love, sharing, patience, cooperation and learning about God. Parents are provided with pagers during the service so that a nursery worker can notify you if your child requires your attention.

Sunday School Classes – Individual classes teaching the Bible with fun methods from age 2 through 6th grade. We utilize visual aids and object lessons to help make the lesson real in the children’s lives. All of our teachers have been trained in how to teach the truths of the Bible at a level the children canunderstand and retain. We value children's relationship within the Sunday school setting as they relate to their class teacher and other children within the group. As families commit to attending the same service every week, children are placed in a class of familiar faces where relationships can grow! Classes meet at 9 AM on Sunday mornings.

Junior Church – A great time for children 1st through 5th grade to not only learn from God’s Word through teaching, but through songs, activities, skits, and much more. Our teachers are well trained, encouraging class participation and individual achievement. Junior Church begins when children are dismissed from the main auditorium on Sunday Mornings.

AWANA Clubs – Meets during the school year in the Education Building. Activities begin at 6:30 pm. Follow this link for more information.

Junior Camp – Each year in July, we provide the children an opportunity to go to Junior Camp.

Joy Club – Summertime fun on Wednesday nights learning about God and his love for us.
