It may take more than one visit to find all you are looking for in a church. Like a large buffet meal, it’s hard to take it all in at one time!
Feel free to ask questions (personally, via email, or phone) so you can get to know us better.

FAQ

To make your first time with us more enjoyable, we have prepared this list of frequently asked questions to help you know what to expect.

When are service times?

Our Sunday services are at 10 AM (including Children’s Church), and 6:00 PM.
Bible Study groups (and children’s Sunday School) meet at 9 AM.
On Wednesday, the children’s programs (AWANA Clubs and Teen IMPACT) begin at 6:30PM.
Adult Bible Study and Prayer begins at 7:00 PM. All services end at 8:00 PM.

Where do I park?

Guest and Handicap parking is available near the main entrance on the right side of the building as you face it from the road.

What happens before the service starts?

If you arrive early, you will find that others have also arrived early. Many people enjoy this time for fellowship and getting acquainted. As you enter, you will receive a bulletin giving information about the service and upcoming events. Cards are available in the chair pockets on which you can note prayer requests or to request specific information or make a prayer request. You can fill it out and place it in the offering plate during the service or give it to the Pastor or an usher.

What happens if I arrive late?

All entrance doors except the Main Entrance are locked as part of our enhanced safety program. However, late arrivals will be seated as quickly and discreetly as possible.

How are guests greeted?

Guests are given a Welcome Packet with information about our ministries and asked to complete and return a Registration Card. Guests are not singled out except to be given a Packet and a hearty Welcome!

What is the worship service like?

Services generally last about an hour. Music includes traditional hymns, newer worship songs, and special music and/or choir.

What is the message like?

Our Pastor’s messages last about thirty minutes and are based on the Bible. His sermons are both memorable and practical. A power point presentation is normally used as a visual aid. Bibles are available with the hymnals for your use. Some messages can be accessed online on our website (fbcmcs.org).

What is the “invitation” time?

At the end of the Pastor’s message, he will offer an invitation to anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him as Savior. He will also invite those who desire to make other decisions to come to the front and speak to a counselor. Music is normally played during this time so people can go to the front and speak with the Pastor or simply pray at the platform.

What is available for my children?

A safe and loving nursery is provided for all services. During the 9 AM Bible Study Hour, age-appropriate classes are available for preschool through high school students. During the 10 AM Worship Service, children up to grade six may attend Junior Church or sit with their parents in the main service

Am I expected to give to the offering?

Members are encouraged to give generously and regularly but guests are not expected to give anything. If you have completed a Registration Card or have a note for the Pastor, those cards can be placed in the offering plate.

What happens after the service?

The service ends with a prayer of dismissal. Many of our people enjoy visiting with one another and connecting with our guests after the service. Our Pastor and his wife generally greet people after the service in the lobby near the main entrance. They would love to have an opportunity to meet you following the service.
